(10 a.m. EDT) -- Hurricane Fred has formed into a Category Two storm out in the Atlantic. It is not expected to impact cruises.
(September 8, 2009) -- Tropical Storm Fred, the sixth named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, has developed in the eastern tropical Atlantic and is continuing to strengthen.
The National Hurricane Center is reporting that Tropical Storm Fred currently has maximum sustained winds of 50 miles per hour and it is moving in a west northwest direction. It could become hurricane in the next few days.

At this point, no cruise ship itinerary changes have been reported due to the location of the storm.
