(11:45 a.m. EDT) -- Newbury-based Windsor & Neate Travel ceased operating yesterday, according to a press release from the U.K.'s Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA), which represents over 5,000 travel agencies in the British Isles. Windsor & Neate, a member of the Association of Cruise Experts (ACE), did sell cruise holidays.
The good news for cruise travellers is that, because Windsor & Neate Travel was an ABTA member, they do have recourse for lost bookings. A spokesperson for ABTA tells Cruise Critic today that impacted customers should contact travel insurance provider CEGA, its partner, which will handle all retail claims.
If you have booked a cruise with Windsor & Neate Travel, visit cegagroup.com or call 01243 621000.
At this point, ABTA was unable to share any more information about the agency's closure.
