(1:15 p.m. EDT) -- Royal Princess departed Piraeus, the port for Athens, today at 12:30 p.m. local time -- and, according to Web site marinetraffic.com, it is well on its way to Venice, trawling the Aegean Sea.
A Princess Cruises spokeswoman tells us that the ship is expected to arrive in Venice on July 7 in time for its next voyage. The vessel was at a shipyard in Piraeus since June 26 for repairs after two of the ship's four engines were disabled last month in an engine room fire.
Princess was forced to cancel Royal Princess' June 13 voyage, which was already underway, as well as its June 25 cruise due to the blaze and subsequent repair schedule.
