Today's the day that Fred. Olsen finally kicks the habit and goes totally smoke-free -- well, indoors anyway.
Last September, the line announced it would gradually be changing the smoking policy on all five of its fleet's ships. Today, Balmoral will be the final ship to implement a ban on lighting up in all indoor areas.
Balmoral returned from its world cruise today, and from now on, passengers will only be able to smoke on cabin balconies and in designated areas on open decks.
Boudicca, Black Prince and Braemar all implemented the smoke-free policy back in January. Black Watch's ban came into place in April, following the end of its world cruise.
Fred. Olsen made the decision to go smoke-free due to passenger feedback.
