Just three days after officials called off the search for a missing Norwegian Pearl passenger, who disappeared on Christmas, the U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a missing Carnival Sensation crewmember, who allegedly fell overboard early New Year's Day.
CNN.com and other media outlets report that fellow crewmembers saw the man, an off-duty entertainment supervisor, fall at about 12:50 a.m. Thursday, about 20 miles from Vero Beach on Florida's east coast. The ship was returning to its home port in Port Canaveral after a four-day Bahamas cruise.
Efforts to reach a Carnival Cruise Lines representative for comment were not immediately successful, but CNN.com also reports that the line is calling the incident an accident.
We'll keep you posted.
