| Crown Princess To Leave |
Princess’
Crown Princess will be leaving the fleet in 2002. The 70,000-ton, 1,590-passenger ship was built in 1990 for Sitmar Cruises and originally slated to be named “Fair Land.” But it wasn’t completed before Princess Cruises acquired Sitmar and created the new moniker. Crown Princess will join the European-based fleet of Aida Cruises, another P&O company. Aida Cruises targets German travelers.
In the meantime, Princess’ Sky Princess is sailing its last voyage for the fleet. Sky, a 46,392-ton, 1,200-passenger ship, will sail under the P&O Holidays umbrella.
