(Update: 2:35 p.m. EDT) -- Hurricane Norbert is now crossing southern Baja California. A tropical storm warning and a hurricane watch remains in place from Agua Blanca southward to Cabo San Lucas and northward to La Paz. Some weakening is expected as Hurricane Norbert passes over land.
(8 a.m.) -- Hurricane Norbert built to a category three storm overnight but has now weakened slightly becoming a category two storm as it heads closer to the coast of the Baja Peninsula.
A hurricane warning remains in place for the west coast of Baja California while a tropical storm warning and hurricane watch are in effect for the coast of Baja California from south of Agua Blanca southward to the popular cruise port of Cabo San Lucas.
Carnival Pride, Carnival Elation and Island Princess have already scattered to avoid the worst of the weather, which is close the cruise port of Cabo San Lucas.
Carnival Elation is now due to call in Ensenada tomorrow, instead of spending a day at sea.
Hurricane Norbert is expected to weaken as it reaches land later today.
According to the National Hurricane Center, Tropical Storm Odile is continuing to hug the southwest coast of Mexico but the storm has not yet impacted on any cruise itineraries.
