Update, October 8, 2:50 p.m.: Tropical Storm Marco made landfall far from Mexico's Gulf Coast cruise ports, and did not impact any cruise itineraries. The storm has since dissipated. This will be our last update on Marco.
(October 7) -- The latest storm brewing, Tropical Storm Marco, is closing in on Mexico's Gulf Coast, and is expected to make landfall later today.
Winds are around 65 miles per hour, and the National Hurricane Center has said that Tropical Storm Marco could be close to hurricane strength when it reaches the coast.
Popular cruise ports along the coast that could be impacted are Progreso, Cancun, Cozumel and Costa Maya, though they are not in Marco's direct path. No cruise itineraries have been affected by the storm as yet.
Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Disney all have ships due to call in Cozumel this week -- we will keep you posted if there are any itinerary changes.
