| Fred. Olsen Pulls Black Watch From Georgia |
Fred. Olsen has cancelled its planned call in Georgia following the continued uncertainty in the region.
The line's ship Black Watch had been due to call in Butumi, Georgia, on 12 October as part of a Black Sea Cruise that departs from Dover on 26 September.
As troubles escalated between Russia and Georgia last week, a spokesperson for the Brit line had told Cruise Critic it would remain in close contact with the port agent in Butumi and take his advice on the situation.
Now Fred. Olsen has told us that it has decided to call in Constanta, Romania, instead -- the port lies on the western coast of the Black Sea and is the third largest city in Romania. It is full of historical monuments and ancient ruins such as Ovidiu Square and The Roman Mosaics.
