Carnival Reroutes Fantasy Due to Oil Spill

July 25, 2008
Carnival Cruise Lines has announced that due to the previously reported oil spill on the Mississippi River, Carnival Fantasy will end its current Western Caribbean voyage tomorrow in Mobile instead of New Orleans. Passengers onboard the ship will be provided complimentary motorcoach transportation to the Port of New Orleans or to the New Orleans airport to pick up their cars or join their flights.

Those embarking on the next voyage, scheduled to depart from New Orleans on Saturday, July 26, should proceed to New Orleans as planned. A complimentary motorcoach will bring passengers from New Orleans' Erato Street terminal to Mobile to the board the ship; the ship is expected to be able to resume regular turnarounds from New Orleans by the end of that voyage.

Those who are being dropped off and not leaving a car may proceed straight to Mobile if they prefer.

Both the current voyage and the upcoming sailing are five-night Western Caribbean cruises visiting Progreso and Cozumel.
