British line Thomson Cruises has announced that Thomson Spirit will sail two Southampton sailings as part of its 2009 programme.
The line, which normally offers summer cruises from regional ports such as Harwich and Newcastle, has decided to offer the two Iberian sailings in September and October 2009 onboard the 33,930-ton, 1,254-passenger ship from the port that is home to the big players such as P&O Cruises, Royal Caribbean and Cunard.
The details for the itineraries are as follows:
There will be a 12-night sailing on 19 September, 2009, to Lisbon, Portimao, Malaga, Tangier, Porto and La Coruna before returning to Southampton.
The second sailing will be an eight-night cruise on 1 October, 2009, to Lisbon, Portimao, Almeria, Alicante and finishing up in Palma.
Thomson Spirit will then embark on three cruises from the Balearic Islands with ports of call to include those on its usual Mediterranean trail, such as Palermo, Naples and Barcelona.
