| Fred. Olsen Hikes Fuel Tax |
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced a second fuel hike in as many months -- and the fifth since December last year.
In May, the U.K. line had increased the charge on new bookings from £3.50 per person per night to £5.00 per person. Now passengers face paying £6.00 per person.
This supplement is valid on all new bookings from 11 July and will be valid for all cruises up to and including 16 April 2009. There is a maximum charge of £120 per cruise and the third and fourth passenger in the same stateroom will pay £2.50 apiece with a maximum of £50 per person per cruise.
As Fred. Olsen is now courting Americans, the charges for U.S. folk will be $12.00 per person per night with a maximum charge of $240 per cruise. Third and fourth passengers will pay $5.00 per person per night at a maximum of $100 per cruise.
