Oasis' Royal Promenade will be twice as wide as the promenades on other ships and will run the length of a football field. It will be linked with the ship's Central Park "neighborhood" on the deck above by giant arched skylights, called Crystal Canopies, which will look into the park and sky above. Plus, the Rising Tide bar -- the first moving bar at sea -- will slowly travel up and down between three decks, bringing guests from the Royal Promenade up to Central Park and back again.
Other innovations in the air include a giant copper globe sculpture built into the facade above the Globe and Atlas Pub. The globe can open to reveal a bridge platform, where performers can entertain above the pub. At the aft end of the Royal Promenade, a mezzanine level will allow passengers to get a birds-eye view of the action on the promenade. This level will contain the Schooner Bar and an exclusive club for Crown and Anchor Society members. Eighteen Promenade View staterooms will also overlook this neighborhood.
The Royal Promenade will serve as the main embarkation point for all passengers coming aboard Oasis of the Seas. During the cruise, passengers can shop at eight retail outlets selling everything from logo items to fine jewelry and perfume. A photo gallery and men's salon will also be located on this level. Nine restaurants and bars will also be found here, including Sorrento's Pizzeria, Mondo Coffee Bar, Cafe Promenade, Schooner Bar, On Air Club karaoke bar, Boleros Latin dance club and Champagne Bar -- in addition to the aforementioned Rising Tide Bar and Globe and Atlas Pub.
