Cruise travelers who booked cabins on the maiden voyage of Celebrity Solstice now find they actually hold tickets to the new ship's fourth sailing. That's because Celebrity has just pushed up the debut of Solstice and added three additional departures.
Celebrity Solstice will now sail its maiden voyage on November 23, as opposed to the originally scheduled December 14. The Thanksgiving cruise will be a seven-night sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale, with visits to San Juan, St. Maarten and St. Kitts. Two additional seven-night Caribbean cruises on November 30 and December 7 will offer the same itinerary.
Passengers booked on the December 14 sailing will have the opportunity to rebook on the new maiden voyage. From now through June 12, travelers can switch their reservation to the same stateroom or suite on the November 23 departure without penalty. Plus, Celebrity will reimburse each guest up to $100 for airline change fees, as long as acceptable proof of the incurred costs is provided by January 31, 2009.
Bookings are now open to the public for the November 30 and December 7 cruises. New reservations will not be accepted for Solstice's maiden voyage until after June 12, to allow passengers on the December 14 voyage time to switch their bookings.
