| RCI/Celebrity Return to Sea |
Celebrity’s Infinity, which unexpectedly canceled two cruises due to the replacement of a faulty ball bearing, is back at sea -- or, rather the Inside Passage -- on schedule. The ship is sailing the inland waters of Alaska with a home port in Vancouver. Celebrity’s other out-of-commission ship, Galaxy, which, like Infinity was pulled out of service rather abruptly, also has returned, as promised. Galaxy, which is in Europe, actually canceled a sailing mid-voyage.
Meanwhile, Royal Caribbean’s Nordic Empress is in Bermuda undergoing repairs as a result of an engine fire; the work, according to company officials, is proceeding on schedule. RCI anticipates Nordic Empress will resume its 7-day Bermuda voyages from New York as announced, beginning July 1.
