Cruise ship Van Gogh will run its planned itineraries for 2008 and 2009 with little or no changes after Dutch owner Club Cruise announced it had created a new U.K. operator, Van Gogh Cruise Line Limited.
The cruise ship, which underwent a major refurbishment prior to its world cruise on January 4, was saved by Club Cruise and ABTA after the collapse of tour operator Travelscope.
Cheltenham-based Van Gogh Cruise Line, now staffed by around 13 former Travelscope employees, is contacting customers and agents to let them know cruises are taking place in 2008/2009 and that they can take on the bookings.
Van Gogh Cruises Sarah Brooks said people currently onboard the world cruise have been told of the news.
She said: "We are all ex-Travelscope, so we know the ship so well.
"We will make little, if any changes to itineraries. We want to get the message out to as many people as possible as it is so popular here."
Adds Brooks: "We have had some very good feedback so far from passengers onboard. The cruise is going very well and people are having a fantastic time, which is great because these people were told about Travelscope's news just prior to Christmas."
