| Ingrid's Been Downgraded; No Cruising Impact |
(Saturday, 1:30 p.m.) -- Editor's Update: Ingrid has been downgraded to a tropical depression and, according to the National Hurricane Center, "Hostile winds aloft taking a toll on Ingrid ... reduced to a tropical depression with a few squalls." The storm, or what remains of it, is making no impact on either existing cruises -- or future ones.
This just in from the National Hurricane Center: Tropical Storm Ingrid is expected to fizzle out and remain at sea. At least for now; the NHC's "5-day cone," which predicts the path storms will take, does show Ingrid coming awfully close to Bermuda and the United States' mid-Atlantic region.
But of course things change, so we'll keep an eye on Ingrid through the weekend and will offer reports of any significant strengthening.
