ROC Explorer Delayed Until Fall

June 8, 2001
In one of the longer (and stranger) launch delays we’ve seen recently, Royal Olympic has once again pushed back the inaugural for Olympic Explorer, this time until September 15. Originally slated to begin sailing in early May, Royal Olympic had announced that it was canceling all voyages through June. The cruise line and the shipyard are at loggerheads because Blohm+Voss has insisted the ship is ready -- while Royal Olympic says it’s not. Passengers booked on the latest series of canceled cruises will be offered trips on other Royal Olympic vessels.
