| Update: Tropical Storm Gabrielle |
Tropical Storm Gabrielle Heads for Carolinas
Subtropical Storm Gabrielle Forms
Tropical Storm Gabrielle is set to make landfall within hours. The storm, which is located 20 miles off the North Carolina coast, is moving at about 10 miles per hour and will hit just above Cape Lookout. Tropical storm force winds extend out of its center for about 45 miles, with gusts up to 50 m.p.h.
The good news is that the storm, which will likely gain strength as it passes over the Outer Banks, will jog east-northeast later this evening, and back out into the Atlantic.
Unless a major change in direction occurs, this will be our last update on this system.
