And we have a winner in the Liberty of the Seas Poetry Contest ... BecciBoo from San Antonio!
Among the five finalists, her poem "Tribute to Liberty of the Seas" took home 33.68 percent of the votes to claim the top prize. It was a hotly contested vote, with second place finisher Barnisdad garnering 31.48 percent of the support. Check out the final tallies here.
For BecciBoo's effort, she'll be sailing onboard Liberty of the Seas on a special invitation-only two-night pre-inaugural cruise. Once aboard, she'll present her winning work to a ship's officer. She'll also take home a Cruise Critic gift pack filled with fun-time logo goodies. Congratulations BecciBoo on your smashing poetry!
We'd like to thank everyone who took part in any way in the contest, whether as a poet or one of the 861 Cruise Critic members who voted for the final five. We'd also like to thank Royal Caribbean for making space for the winner. We were surprised at the high level of participation from our members -- almost 200 poems were submitted in total -- and choosing the five finalists was no easy task for the editorial staff. Kudos Cruise Critic poets!
