Bomb Hoax Causes Sensation ... on Carnival's Sensation
A bomb threat -- which turned out to be a hoax -- delayed Carnival's Sensation last night from its planned departure. The threat was received after some 3,000 passengers had boarded the ship, which was slated to sail on a three-day cruise to the Bahamas from Florida's Port Canaveral.
Carnival reported the threat to the appropriate law enforcement agencies.
Passengers and crew were evacuated from the ship and a two-hour search took place before the hoax was determined. All were permitted to reboard just after 5 p.m. The ship was slightly delayed -- departing at 8:15 p.m. -- but the cruise will still proceed as planned.
