3 Injured After Wave Hits Liner

September 29, 2000
P&O's 76,000-ton Oriana, carrying 1,525 passengers on a transatlantic voyage from New York to Southampton, in Great Britain, is undergoing mid-ocean repairs after a 40 ft. wave shattered windows on the cruise liner. The ship at the time was about 600 miles west of Ireland. Windows in six cabins were damaged; three passengers suffered minor injuries from broken glass and another four were treated for shock.
