The barge is back -- Nenuphar, that is. On May 13, the 12-passenger French Country Waterways vessel will re-enter service on the canals of Champagne after a year of extensive renovations.
During its absence from luxury barging, Nenuphar was totally rebuilt with custom cherry paneling and furniture, and its six cabins now offer a choice of king, queen or twin beds. The ship also features new marble bathrooms (the largest in the fleet).
In other news, the line has announced that it is also introducing an International Wine of the Month Club on the 18-passenger Esprit. After cruising near the heart of the Cote d'Or wine region of Burgundy, that ship's guests will receive a year's membership -- 12 monthly shipments of two bottles from wine regions worldwide.
French Country Waterways offers six-night canal cruises in France with departures every Sunday throughout the spring, summer and fall.
