Haven't heard a peep from Celebrity's new Infinity, for a while, but the line's newest, swankiest ship, which has been quietly sailing Hawaiian itineraries, arrived in Los Angeles this weekend for its better-late-than-never inaugural ceremonies. The 1,950-passenger Infinity -- sister ship to Millennium -- has, among other things, cruise-dom's first seagoing conservatory as well as the unique SS United States boutique eatery, which is decorated with glass panels from the historic SS United States cruise ship (known as the ship that clocked the fastest transatlantic crossing). The resemblance goes beyond decor; fleet chef Michel Roux has even included one of the SS United States' menu items -- Roast Long Island Duckling a l'Orange stuffed with fruit.
Infinity will be stationed in Alaska this summer.
