Lane Makes Landfall at Mazatlan
Hurricane Lane Gains Power
Hurricane Storm Roundup: Gordon, Lane, Helene, Florence
(3:30 p.m.) -- It's "business as usual" in Mazatlan, after Hurricane Lane made landfall Sunday about 130 miles north of the Mexican Riviera cruise port as a Category Three storm.
According to an official statement, Mazatlan's tourist areas show no signs of damage; the only damage to the city included a few felled trees and flooding in its outskirts.
Electricity is on, and all restaurants and shops reopened for business yesterday; a spokesman for Carnival Cruise Lines tells us that no changes have been reported for Mazatlan shore excursions on upcoming sailings.
