Celebrity's Summit Pins Humpback Whale
Sometime after leaving Disenchantment Bay, near Yakutat and on the way to Seward on Saturday, Celebrity's 91,000-ton Summit picked up a 25 - 30 ft. humpback whale. The dead whale wasn't even discovered until the ship had docked; it was spotted on Summit's bulbous bow by a longshoreman, according to news reports.

The incident is termed an accident and Celebrity notifed federal authorities and Seward police upon making the discovery. The cause of death to the humpback, an endangered species, is not known at this time.
