In honor of 1966, England's best ever World Cup year, the Britain-based easyCruise is hoping that its wacky new deal -- 19.66 GBP (about $37 U.S.) per person, per night -- might bring on some luck for their home team.
Regardless of travelers' affinities, the deal's a good one -- especially since easyCruise is throwing live telecasts of World Cup soccer matches into the bargain.
But book quickly: The special "1966" rates are only available for four-night jaunts departing from Monaco on June 12 or 19 aboard the 4,077-ton, 170-passenger easyCruiseOne.
During those voyages, the matches will be screened in the ship's Sports Bar -- including the all-important games for England that take place on June 15 and 20 (don't expect an impartial crowd). Between matches, passengers can head ashore to visit Genoa, Portofino, Imperia and Nice.
This itinerary can be booked at www.easycruise.com. Editor's Note: The Italy-based Costa line will also be airing World Cup games this summer on its ships in the Mediterranean.
