The ship left Arica at 10 a.m. local time this morning, bound for Lima, Peru. Remaining behind were the ship's physician, nurse and concierge, who will provide assistance to the two injured passengers and family members.
The cruise line sent a special assistance team from Miami, who arrived in Arica earlier today. They, too, will be on hand to assist family members of the deceased as well as the injured passengers who are being flown in by Celebrity today.
Onboard, the ship observed a moment of silence, allowing guests to reflect on those involved in the accident. The ship has set aside a special room for quiet reflection, with Bibles and copies of the Siddur, a book of Jewish prayers.
