Who Needs Oscars? Princess' Captain's Awards Honor Cinema
Honoring cruise-related films and film stars, Princess Cruises' first-ever "Captain's Awards" paid homage to various actors including Cameron Diaz for Best Karaoke Performance in "My Best Friend's Wedding" and Johnny Depp for Captain Most Likely to Steal Your Heart in "Pirates of the Caribbean."

The honorees were determined by the votes of some 45,000 members of Princess' Captain's Circle, its frequent cruiser program. Winners will be showcased at the Captain's Awards Summer Film Festival, held exclusively on Princess' soon-to-be-launched Crown Princess.

Other winners included "Titantic" stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet for Best Smooch at Sea, "Pretty Woman" for Most Romantic Balcony Scene, and "The Little Mermaid" for Best Performance by a Lobster ("Splash" and "Annie Hall" were runners-up for that last one).

The Captain's Awards are particularly apropos for Princess because the line pioneered the concept of "Movies Under the Stars" (now copied by other lines, such as Carnival) -- the 300-square-ft. LED outdoor movie screen that offers a drive-in style film watching experience. Indeed, the awards even included a category for Best Drive-In Movie with "Grease" taking that prize.

Among the Princess ships that feature "Movies Under the Stars" include Grand Princess, Sea Princess and Caribbean Princess.
