Princess Offers "Major League" Proposals -- On the Big Screen

January 10, 2006
Listen up fellas: If you're thinking of popping the question with a hot dog, a few brews and a Jumbotron at the ballgame, Princess Cruises has a more romantic idea. Instead of dragging your future fiancee to a sporting event, take her on a cruise -- and Princess will broadcast your proposal on a 300-square-foot LED poolside screen as part of a new romance package, "Engagement Under the Stars."

The package will only be available -- at first -- onboard Princess' brand-new Crown Princess when it launches this June. The biggest perk? The ship's videographer will work with you in a secret onboard session to create a personalized big-screen proposal, and arrange for it to be shown just prior to one of the evening's outdoor feature films. And though franks and beer are not included in the $695 package price, a bottle of Champagne and chocolate covered strawberries will be waiting for you back in your cabin.

You and your newly betrothed will also enjoy:

Two glasses of bubbly and a red rose just after she says "yes"
Four candid 8x6 photos of the surprise proposal
A portrait session including one 8x10 engagement photo
Romantic breakfast in bed
Couples' massage at the Lotus Spa
Complimentary pottery class via ScholarShip@Sea, where you'll design a souvenir "engagement plate"
$100 credit toward a wedding-at-sea package for a future cruise

Forgot the ring? Relax ... you'll also get a 10 percent discount off fine jewelry in the ship's boutique.

Ultimately, "Engagement Under the Stars" will be available on all Princess ships that feature "Movies Under the Stars"; at this point, that's Caribbean Princess, Grand Princess and Sea Princess.
