| Grand Princess Experiences Motor Problems |
Just after departing from Mykonos on Monday, Grand Princess developed a problem with its port-side propulsion motor that resulted in a decrease of speed. As a result, the ship has had to sail a revised itinerary.
The ship, originally slated to call at Istanbul, instead visited the Greek island of Samos. Its stop at Kusadasi, another popular Turkish port, was canceled outright. The ship visited Athens yesterday and is now on its way to its summer homeport in Venice. Grand Princess is expected to arrive as scheduled on Saturday, and a Princess spokeswoman says that "technicians are standing by to make repairs" during its two-day turn-around. She also notes, "We do not anticipate a delay to the cruise departing Venice" on Monday. | |
