United States Line’s Patriot returned to its homeport of Honolulu to undergo repairs, interrupting the 7-night cruise that departed February 17. Port calls at Kahului, Hilo and Kona were canceled.
Passengers will receive a full refund of their cruise fare and port charges, plus a 50% credit toward the purchase of any cruise operated by American Classic Voyages Co. Guests are also welcome to remain aboard the ship until the scheduled debarkation date, since the vessel's normal hotel and dining services, as well as onboard activities and entertainment, will continue to be available.
A thrust bearing in the ship’s generator drive train replaced, and the ship will depart on its regularly scheduled 7-night cruise from Honolulu on February 24.
