Donald Trump isn't the only celebrity jumping on the cruise bandwagon. Hot on the heels of Norwegian Dawn being filmed for an episode of NBC's "The Apprentice," Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa will spend a week hosting "Live with Regis and Kelly" live from Pride of America.
Pride of America -- the first (and biggest) cruise ship in 50 years built to fly the U.S. flag -- may well be one of the mostly highly anticipated new ship debuts of the 21st century, so it's no surprise Philbin and Ripa have chosen its maiden voyage to bring their popular morning talk show to the high seas. The special all-American East Coast itinerary will depart from New York on Saturday, June 18; each day from June 20 through 24, "Live" will be broadcast from a new port -- Boston, Philadelphia, Norfolk and Miami -- with one show to be filmed at sea. "Live" will be the first nationally syndicated program to broadcast a full week of shows from onboard a cruise ship.
Who gets to go? Philbin and Ripa's staff, and ... maybe you. The hosts are giving away a cruise for 20 every weekday for 20 days -- a total of 1,000 free cruises -- in a special watch-to-win contest. For five days starting on May 2, the hosts will reveal a daily clue on "Live." Viewers will need all five clues to enter "Live's Pride of America Cruisin' Reunion" contest either online or via postcard; Philbin and Ripa will then award one viewer a cruise for 20 people each day from May 16 through June 10. Visit liveregisandkelly.com for more information.
After the special "Live" cruise, Pride of America will head for its homeport of Honolulu, where it will sail all-Hawaii itineraries year-round.
