Disney Wonder Gets Makeover, New Venues
Concluding a series of ship renovations which began last year with Disney Magic, Disney Cruise Line's Disney Wonder returned from dry dock this month with a refurbished interior and exterior -- and three brand-new venues.

According to the cruise line, the new areas are age-specific and designed to appeal to the varied interests of their younger and older passengers.

Aloft, a new-for-Disney teen lounge, is decorated as part coffee shop, part college dorm, with cozy furniture, video games, MP3 listening stations, Internet-ready computers, and a soft-drink and smoothie bar. Teens can participate in a variety of activities -- some for a younger crowd, others for older teens, and plenty for the entire group.

Cove Cafe, which debuted on Disney Magic in 2003, is an adult-friendly coffee bar featuring gourmet coffees, specialty drinks and light snacks -- day or night. Cove Cafe, next to the Quiet Cove Pool, is an ideal place for grown-ups to read, relax or socialize with other adult passengers.

Diversions, also found on Disney Magic, is another hot spot for adults, particularly at night. This sports pub packed with flat-screen televisions features a wide range of activities from trivia games to karaoke.

Other improvements made to the 1999 launch included replacing decorative tile, swapping out elaborate carpeting, refurbishing wood decking and reupholstering furniture. Also, the hull was cleaned and the exterior received a fresh coat of paint.
