Hurricane Center -- Trop Storm Matthew's Impact Minor
Cruise travelers departing from Gulf of Mexico ports like New Orleans and Galveston may want to build extra time traveling to their ships – but cruise lines, such as Carnival, say the storm has absolutely no impact on departures today. Carnival Conquest will leave New Orleans on time while Carnival Elation will also depart, this time from Galveston, as normal.

Tropical Storm Matthew has just made landfall and is clocking winds in the 40 m.p.h. range. The biggest impact of course is rain and flooding – but this is by no means as powerful a storm as others that have impacted the U.S. this year.
