HAL Transfers Oosterdam to West Coast For Seasonal Voyages
The Mexican Riviera cruising region gets its second big boost of the week today as Holland America announces it will transfer its 82,000-ton 1,848-passenger Oosterdam to San Diego. That city will serve as a seasonal home port for the Holland America ship.

Details are pretty sketchy but the basic gist is that Oosterdam will be sailing a series of seven-night trips from January 22 through April 23. The ship will return to San Diego in the fall for another 13 voyages, running October 1 through December 17. In all the 27 voyages, Oosterdam will call at the "same old, same old" Mexican Riviera ports of Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta.

Earlier this week, Disney Cruise Line also announced it would bring its Disney Magic to the West Coast for a series of seasonal Mexican Riviera itineraries. Read more in Disney Sends Magic to West Coast.
