RCI Reveals Details of New Ship

January 24, 2001
A sign that Royal Caribbean’s new Radiance of the Seas is almost ready for prime-time: the cruise line is revealing details about the 88,000 ton, 2,100-passenger vessel. While not as big as RCI’s last two ships (the record-setting Voyager of the Seas and Explorer of the Seas), Radiance, due out March 9 has some funky features. These include cruisedom’s first bookstore (in a Borders’-like coffee house/bookstore combo), Chops Grill Steakhouse, in-cabin Internet hookups and a high-tech self-leveling pool table. The ship will sail Alaskan itineraries this summer.
