Silver Cloud Returns To Silversea Fleet

April 8, 2004
Silversea's Silver Cloud has returned to the Silversea fleet after a six-month stint of time-off-for-good-refurbishment.

The 16,800-ton, 296-passsenger ship follows in the footsteps of Silver Wind, its sister vessel, which had earlier received a similar refurbishment. Highlights of new features added to Silver Cloud include Saletta Restaurant, an elegant and cozy alternative restaurant that features dishes created by chefs from Relais & Chateaux, the ultra luxury hotel marketing group. The ship's fitness center was expanded and relocated (with more room than ever before for both fitness equipment and workout classes), the Internet Point cyber center was added, and a new Tranquility Room was introduced to its spa.

Silver Cloud, introduced a decade ago, was the ship that launched Silversea Cruises. One pretty nifty feat-of-timing is that Silversea engineered its post-refurbishment re-launch to coincide almost exactly to the day with its original debut.

The ship is currently on its post-refurbishment inaugural which departed April 4 and will spend the summer trawling the waters of the Mediterranean and Baltic seas before venturing to exotic locales of the Indian Ocean and South Pacific.
