Celebrity Teams Up With Cirque du Soleil
Still moving full-speed ahead, Celebrity Cruises has joined forces with Cirque du Soleil and is developing new-and-exciting onboard entertainment concepts. Word of this exclusive, six-year alliance comes just three months after the announcement of Celebrity's Xpeditions, the line's collection of adventure-intensive excursions in the Galapagos Islands and other exotic destinations.

Does this mean cruisers can expect exciting and elaborate Vegas-style shows on their next Celebrity sailing? Maybe. Although specific details will not be revealed until May, a Celebrity spokesperson assures us today there will be unique "Cirque entertainment of some kind" onboard select ships. Other perks for Celebrity guests might include tickets to Cirque shows in relevant ports of call, backstage passes, or access to show parties.

Thanks to this partnership, Celebrity's Captain's Club members will be the first to receive news and information about touring shows and unique cruise opportunities (Celebrity will be sponsoring Cirque's touring shows in North America and Europe).

Cirque du Soleil troupes have been delivering creative, innovative performances to the public since 1984.
