Mariner of the Seas Arrives In U.S.

November 11, 2003
Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas has completed its first transatlantic crossing, arriving today at its year-round home base of Port Canaveral. The ship, the fifth out of five in RCI’s Voyager series, will celebrate its official naming ceremony on Friday; Olympic athlete Jean Driscoll will serve as godmother. The 138,000-ton, 3,114-passenger vessel departs for its maiden voyage – making inaugural calls at Nassau, St. Maarten and San Juan – on Sunday.

Mariner of the Seas will be based, year-round, in Port Canaveral, and will sail an alternating schedule of seven night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries.
