We found a good deal and brought the extended family. The good: the ship is good enough, lots of cafes mostly closed when you need them. Staff overall good and helpful, some exceptions. Embarkation was problematic and stressful with ground staff unwilling to let us check in because of an alleged problem with a passport (the problem was non-existent and was finally cleared up by immigration but not before we'd been forced to stand to one side of the queue for 30 mins in 35°C heat). The cruise was absolutely excellent in every way. The ship is beautiful and the staff is wonderful. However the testing requirement pre-boarding was a total mess. First of all MSC hadn’t made it clear that it was necessary to bring a negative Covid test (not older than 48 hours) to the check-in desk. We choose this cruise as a cruise to no where! MSC are currently only allowing passengers to get off the boat on organised excursions. With no chance of going off on your own. As a 4 star resort hotel the boat was great.
