We chose this cruise because we could not beat the price! First I want to point out that the ship was absolutely beautiful and our balcony stateroom did the trick. Though, MSC has not grasped that in the states one of the important things we like is efficiency. The lines, the lines, the lines! You will not get a drink when you want one. They also don’t have anything. It’s a fun lotto of ...
I cannot recommend this cruise line at all. If you want a "pretty" ship to look at then it had that. If you want good food, service and activities go elsewhere. We arrived with a dirty cabin. IT takes 7 hours to get a towel..ice...bedding... pillow.. toilet paper. Mini bar unlocked. 7 hours was the minimum time time it took. You cannot get your own ice and often it never came. Entire day. ...
My wife Cathy and I joined daughter-in-law Stacey, granddaughter Sarah, and Grandson Billy for a 4 day cruise on the MSC Meraviglia, leaving from from nearby Port Canaveral, over the kids’ spring break from Seminole High School.
Day 1 (3/12/2023) Stacey picked us up on the way to the port. We arrived a bit after 10am, checked our luggage, and parked in handicap parking. Due to Cathy’s ...
I spent six weeks travelling through South Africa and decided to return to Europe by cruise. In spring 2023 there were exactly five ships doing this. Costa, Aida, Phoenix and two MSC vessels. Costa visited on the world cruise and no cabin was available. Aida did a fast track through the Atlantic Ocean and mainly visited ports in Europe, in my opinion no attractive itinerary. Phoenix did extensive ...
We travelled on a 30 day “Grand Voyage” from Cape Town to Venice on the MSC Sinfonia in March/April 2023. This is a 3.5 star vessel, and the onboard experience met or slightly exceeded expectations at that price point. The ship is well maintained, and the food entertainment and service are normally good. Note, this ship was cut in two and more cabins inserted. This put a strain on the facilities ...
We chose the cruise because it was supposed to pick us up in Walvis Bay, Namibia and it was a repositioning cruise to Europe. The duration, dates, and destination of the cruise were a perfect fit... we thought. Even though we had written permission from MSC to board the ship in Walvis Bay, Namibia, the ship never showed up. They never contacted us. No letter, no email, no text, no call. We ...
Drink and food service was absolutely horrible. Buffet food lines were a disaster, food was very greasy, same items every meal, extremely bread heavy. Drink service - expect at minimum 15 minutes to get a drink, bartenders are extremely slow and have one speed. Sit down dinners - a joke! 2 hours to receive all items (and not always what you ordered). Don’t plan to take in a after dinner show ...
The MSC sales agent told us the ship would have about 3000 passengers. Once on board we were told there were 4400. The ship was not staffed to support that many passengers. Service was slow, lines to do just about anything on the ship.
5th floor dining room management was unresponsive. The first night we asked for a permanent table for 6. We eventually got assigned seating, but it was not ...
We had cruised 4 previous times with Norwegian Cruise Lines and had never tried another, so this review will really be about comparing NCL to what we experienced with MSC and this ship. WIll compare each part.
1. Price- We took my mother as a solo passenger and it was $800 cheaper for her to get a balcony cruise on MSC compared to NCL, and it was also about $500 cheaper for us as a couple for ...
We have been on 7 cruises with Royal and Carnival and we have never done a public review, but people need to know how bad MSC is. I'm being 100 percent honest.
Crew is rude (it felt so weird ordering drinks without a hello or even one word spoken. Just a finger pointing to a card reader for payment. The same thing happened at the casino cashier.
Long waits at least 15 minutes every drink you ...
