Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

The adventure began on 22nd October with a 3 hour queue to embark, then horrendous sleepless night on deck 14, the first night, with the trolleys from the buffet overhead, kept us awake. Complained, and after some strong words from my wife, we were moved onto deck 12. No complaints with this room as it was exactly as shown on the website. Service at breakfast was abysmal, people would ...

A truly terrible experience. Avoid at all costs.

If this had been my first cruise I would never cruise again. Absolutely chaotic; badly organised and just plain terrible. We arrived at the berth at our allocated boarding time of 1pm. We finally got onboard just before sailing time, 4pm. None of us had eaten since breakfast and our 8 year old was, inevitably, hungry. We boarded to find all food and drink outlets closed for the first hour for ...

Will never go on this ship again - cue to get on (2 hours) cue to get a coffee in the buffet. No seats. Says there are 17 restaurants. Yes -but only 3 that you can use or pay more. Bars the same -always crowded with no seats and almost no waiter service. The evening shows were a joke -but not funny. 30 mins and that was the big show. 6000 passengers , theatre holds 650 at a time. 3 shows per ...

We did a dozen of cruises on almost all mainstream cruise lines, but this was our first one on MSC. Having sailed with Costa though we knew a bit what to expect. We did the cruise with friends who where first time cruisers. I chose the Euribia on this 6 day Hamburg to Southampton cruise for a couple of reasons. First of all the opportunity to try a big ship. We have only been on smaller ships and ...

Don't sail with MSC

Choose for the price and ports, but what a mistake. I'm sure you have read about the terrible food, but that just doesn't do it justice. All meat is served cold and raw, including bacon and hot dogs. Dinner always includes a (venomous) Cuttlefish and Squid salad (?) or some kind of (hopefully worm) under prepared fish, that I was was to scared to order. The staff is friendly and attentive and ...

Sailed from Hamburg in the Yacht Club. Check in a breeze, was met at the tent outside in front of the terminal, our bags were taken, a butler took us to check in, no waiting. Took approx 30 mins from the tent to being served a drink in the YC lounge. our cabin was ready 1 hour later at 11.15 am. Our cabin was very spacious and well set out, with much more storage than you will ever need. ...

So much better than the reviews suggest

This was actually my third trip on the MSC Virtuosa. The first was a round UK one during covid and was a strange, too quiet experience with skeleton staff. Next was a short cruise with my 17 year old grand daughter last year- much more fun, but the service at bars etc was really poor and slow. but this cruise offer of a 15 night all inclusive with a balcony, visiting France, Spain and Morocco, for ...

This is not the first time we have been on the Virtuosa but will definatly be the last. The last cruise was so bad that were were given a discount on a further cruise. Wish we hadnt gone back on. First we caught gastroenterities - norovirus on board, then were treated like dirt by guest relations etc.Had to be put in isolation for over half our cruise. We had to stay on the ship from the start to ...

Newest ship but not the best

MSC is offering good prices, but you get what you paid for. I general ship is good, new, nice and clean. Good services, not very crowded, except plaza, which is not plaza, but place for traffic jam. Food is ok, coffee is real trash, small portions for dinners in main restaurant, but you always can eat more and more in main buffet. TV is locked to hotel mode, and you can’t hook anything to USB, ...

Really a 3.5 star review

I booked this cruise almost 12 months in advance for myself and wife also a cabin for my daughter and her partner. I had a senior moment when booking and used my daughters ex partners surname on the booking. The christian name was correct and also the DOB. I called to change the surname when I realised some two weeks later. We are still talking some 11 months from sail date and got charged £50 ...
