Consider CAREFULLY before you go on this

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Viking Octantis

Going to Antarctica was a lifelong dream, and when I saw there was a South Georgia itinerary, we decided - "Let's go for it". Definitely a once in a lifetime expedition for us as we're getting older. Although we are well warned, anything can happen on an expedition cruise, and before you make a $60,000 commitment (included Patagonia extension and Viking trip insurance, + room upgrade), I ...

Excellent ship and cruise to Antarctica

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Viking Polaris

Outstanding ship and crew with exceptional service and food quality. Safety was a top concern for the crew assisting on Zodiac landings with plenty of crew members ready to guide and assist each participant in getting on and off the Zodiacs safely. The staterooms were large and comfortable with large showers and floor to ceiling windows that opened by pressing a button to lower the top half of the ...

Linblad/National Geographic have done what no one else could possibly come close to accomplishing! A trip of a month, that was packed with adventure, and more interesting, thought provoking education than you could imagine. Expeditions that brought us where almost no one has been, with naturalists and historians to bring the complete package. The ship is new, clean, state of the art technology ...

I debated between 4 and 5 stars. Pre-cruise at the Hilton. Viking support was outstanding all he way to the ship and for departure. Viking reps everywhere in the airport and even flew on the charter to/from Ushuaia. Very well organized. Polaris is a wonderful and beautiful ship. Staff and crew are exceptional. Unfortunately, weather is a major factor beyond Viking's control. Lost a ...

Our cruise only had about 300 passengers. The entire crew was fantastic! The expedition crew ensured we had as many outings as possible, and our several days we had landings and zodiac cruises. We had terrific weather up until the last landing. They issue boots and you get a complimentary jacket. Hiking poles in different heights are also provided. Food was delicious in the Aune restaurant and ...

My wife and I have taken 59 cruises. This exploration has completed our trip around the world. We have been to all seven continents. The staff and crew on the ship were excellent. The food was excellent. Our cabin was a good size with plenty of space. The window allowed us to see what was going on outside all of the time. The trips on the Zodiac and the Special Operation Boat provided us ...

We were on the Viking Polaris for the Antarctic Explorer cruise from Jan 18 - 30, 2024 Packing tips: - Viking provides trekking poles at every landing (2/person) so don’t pack them despite what the website says. - Viking provides 2 sets of good binoculars on floatation straps in your room so unless you are picky don’t bring your own. Optika HD Meopta 8x42 7.5 - Bring at least one, ...

Quality of crew, except expedition leader, was outstanding...itinerary blasé...naturalists excellent, food outstanding...but knowing what we know now, would not recommend this itinerary to NZ. Fairly uninteresting...ship is outstanding, crew excellent...cabin service outstanding. This was the least interesting of any Lindblad/Nat Geo trip we've been on...hope they find better things to do with ...

The Coral Adventurer owned by Coral Expeditions is a modern small ship built to be able to sail close to small islands and into rivers. It sleeps 120 guests but there was only 90 on board. It has one main dining area which is air-conditioned, or you can sit outside to have your meals. There are other outside areas to eat which are used for sunset drinks or an outdoor BBQ. There is a small gym and ...
