Join a walking tour to discover some of Lubeck's most famous sites such as Lubeck's landmark "Holstengate" and the historic town hall located in the city's center.
Our Dutch guide gave out a lot of interesting history and details about the architecture. However, once again..............ancient cobblestones which made for difficulty walking for some of the tour members. The restaurant where we sampled marzipan was disappointing. The product was "so-so" and the service rude. It was extremely busy. We would have preferred some free time to purchase lunch and shop on our own.
A side note - this was the nicest bus. It even had a W.C. They also had cold bottled water ( 1 E) for puchase on the way back.

Very nice guide Britta - we started at the Holsten Gate, saw the old Merchants houses and canals, went to see some of the rebuilt churches (everything was rebuilt in the 1950's after much of the town was destroyed in bombing). Had dinner in an old sailers' meeting house with lots of nautical memoribilia decorating the old tavern. Visited the market and Niederegger Marzipan shop. Tour sometimes dragged a bit because of the age of walkers, sort of place we would have been happy to walk round independantly and just use the coach to transport us to the town, possibly meeting up for the meal later.
