Belfast City Tour Excursion Reviews

Belfast City Tour cruise excursion
Overall Rating
Explore the city of Belfast, home to the Titanic Memorial on the east grounds of City Hall, which honors those who perished in the disaster. Other highlights include Giant's Causeway and plenty of pubs.

2 hour private Political and history tour with stops. Lots of info. Very fair prices. Easy to arrange on line. Went to the titanic museum on our own. Worth a visit

Amazing scenery, glens and coastal road. Just the tour guide drove me a bit mad and seemed to think she wasn't allowed to STOP talking even when she didn't really have anything to talk about! But lovely scenery.

The tour of the old city with the wall separating the community was touching and troubling at the same time

TaxiTrax GIANT’S CAUSEWAY TAXI TOUR (7hr tour). Our guide was ready for us at least 30 minutes early, as we presented early to start our journey. Kudos to him! Due to heavy traffic, it took about 20-30 minutes to get onto the North Antrim Coastal route A2 Road. We went through very quaint towns with picturesque scenery, even when it would rain. And it rained on and off the entire day so thankfully we worse rain gear from head to toe. The green steep cliffs and bluffs served as a magnificent backdrop to the ocean. Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge Links mainland to tiny Carrick Island and is 20m long 30m high, circa 1755. It is mostly made of metal now and is very sturdy. This £5.9 per person trip is about a 5-10 minute walk to the bridge and is probably not meant for folks who are at risk of falling down. Especially in the rain, the tiny island surface is very uneven and slippery. After we crossed the bridge – WOW, The views! Fantastic! Really a gem. I felt like Luke Skywalker at the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, especially when it briefly stopped raining. Dark Hedges was a location filmed in season 2 episode 1 when Arya fled Kings Landing. The majestic Beech Trees were planted by Stuart Family in 1700s and are terrific. It was very beautiful. We skipped Bushmills Whiskey Distillery as it was too crowded and frankly didn't have great reviews on line We got back to our cruise ship 2 hours before sailing off. Our driver usually gives tours in Belfast, so though he knew the area well as he summered there his whole childhood, he didn't know a ton of factual information about the sites. Then again, I hate a tour guide who gives info nonstop, and our 7.5 hr ride was pleasant because he wasn't over chatty. And he was courteous and receptive to questions. He basically said to let him know what we wanted and when we wanted to pull over for photos. I had notes in my iPhone so I knew a little of what we were visiting. Unfortunately all 4 of us had a little difficulty understanding his Irish accent. I would give 5 stars if we could have learned a little more.

Our original excursion got cancelled, so we booked Belfast Highlights & Hillsbourgh Castle. This is the residence of the Queen when in N. Ireland. Absolutely beautiful!!! Belfast I would not recommend walking around on your own.

We had a very funny tour guide he was the fine example of Irish humor. The tour was very informative and we saw a lot of murals on the building walls and the beautiful castle. We did get off in the city and do some shopping and took the free shuttle back. The free shuttle was very crowded and we had to wait for two before we were able to get into one. So leave yourself a lot of time to get on the free shuttle back to the ship.

I gave it a 3 because we had a great driver, John, who did his best to show us the sights. But we hated Belfast. Very, very unsettling. We did enjoy the Titanic Museum.

Our plans for Belfast were almost scuppered when the vessel could not get in to port due to high winds. We berthed later in the day and went on the city tour which included a visited to Titanic Belfast the new interactive museum which stayed open late for us. Do not visit Belfast without visiting Titanic Belfast.

Belfast: Used Absolutely wonderful. Mercedes van was great with a PA system. There were 6 of us. Did Giants Causeway, Carrick-a-rede Bridge, Antrim Coast, Dunluce Castle, Belfast. Game of Thrones Hedges. A great great tour. Loved this area. There was a shuttle service provided by local authorities on a complimentary basis. The ship docked at Stormont Wharf and the port is located about 15 minutes drive from the city center.

We booked this tour with another couple from our roll call. This was a very interesting tour and the countryside was beautiful. As an American, I am sad to admit I did not know much of the ongoing religious issues in Belfast. Our guide, Gerald was very informative and enthusiastic about his home town. I would highly recommend this tour.

The city tour was just okay. We didn't stop at the Titanic Memorial, which I thought was strange, yet we stopped quickly to take a picture of Queens's College and the graffiti people draw regarding the northern Ireland conflict.
It's not a tour I'd recommend.

Toured Belfast City Hall. Yes, it's beautiful, but so are lots of city halls and state capitols in America. You are better off getting yourself into Belfast (plenty of options) and touring it yourself.

In Belfast we took the ships shuttle to town and took the Hop on Hop off bus around especially enjoying the stretch where we viewed the murals and the description of them and the troubles. On highway stretches it was very hard to hear what the guide was saying. We hopped off and had a Guiness in a cute little pub where they poured it slowly and it was delicious. Then we sat and talked to a local family enjoying the conversation.

Interesting to see Belfast from the top of a bus - Storemont, Shankill and Falls roads, University, art galleries, etc. The only problem was some of the comments made by the Tour Guide i.e. like looking under the seat for a flak jacket and hard hat, some what anti the English as the Titanic's captain was English!
