This beach was very crowded the day we were there. We had to ask for them to put out more beach chairs because our group was probably the last to arrive. Otherwise, it was fine. It was a great place for our kids to learn to snorkel.

Perfect beach! We booked with the ship because it's been stressful in the past to worry about taxis picking us up at our beach of choice in good time. And the traffic on St. Thomas can be soooo clogged and unpredictable. We had a round-trip open jalopy ride to the beach, unlimited cold drinks (everything from water to soda to beer to rum and punch), lounge chairs and floats, both shade and sun to choose from, and a very jolly host named James. Perfect water, all the shades of blue and green in the world, silky sand. Not crowded. I believe there is a daily limit to people allowed in. My only complaint is that our stay was under 2 hours. I had hoped we would have 2 1/2 to 3 hours there. A bit too short.

Shopping, sightseeing and beach. Tour operator mixed up our reservations, even though we had made a deposit. When he didn't show up on time, we had to phone him and talk him into coming to get us right then, rather than even later. But after that it was ok. The beach was very nice, not crowded, and the sight-seeing was really good.

We had a great time at the beach and the guides pointed us to the best snorkeling areas. We saw stingrays, colorful fish, coral and conch.

Visited sapphire beach about 10 years ago and loved it. Something has happened because it is horrible now. Water is still pretty, but beach area, entrance, bar, bathrooms, chairs, etc. looks like an abandoned dump! St. Thomas in general seems to have really gown down.

The excursion did mention a guided tour across the island on our way to the beach. It didn't happen but the beach was nice. The sea was quite rough with a steep drop off with several rocks. I wouldn't advise taking young children there and adults who are a little unstable might want to avoid it too.

Long taxi ride over to Sapphire beach. The facilities leave a lot to be desired but the beach was beautiful. The view of the cove and all of the mountains and surrounding islands were stunning. Clean the bathrooms! Buy a pressure washer and some paint lol. If you're looking for a quiet beach day, this is the place.

Okay beach, nothing to get excited about. If you have a choice go to Magen's Beach. Sapphire Beach very rocky and facilities outdated.

The Beach was nice. Chair and drink and snorkle equipment included. The staff was friendly and helpful. A few vendors along the bneach. We also got a tour of the island on the way there and the way back.

Crazy taxi ride. Felt like a foreign country but stil a U.S. territory. The beach was nice. Really like that they saved the snorkel equipment for us. It made walk ups mad but they took care of the tour.

We decided to walk and find public transportation and go to a beach for the day. We found a bicycle cop in a parking lot of a grocery store and talked with him and asked his advice on the best source of transportation. As we spoke, his friend was driving by and he waved him over. His friend had a van and took us all (11 of us) to the beach for $4 each, round trip. He brought us to Sapphire Beach and we spent the day there. When we were there, we spent about $25 on snorkel equip. for our family and hung out, played in the water and on the beach. There was a football there so our guys tossed the football around on the beach. We ordered some food from the food huts and sat on the beach, under some shade trees, and ate. I think we could have just stayed there for a was so beautiful. Our driver had asked us what time he should pick us up and sure enough, he was there waiting to take us back to the ship. Very nice man! Awesome day. We recognized some others there from our ship and asked them how much $ their excursion was and they paid $60 each. (hehehe) I didn't have the heart to tell them that I think our family of 4 paid about $40 total (bus fare and snorkel gear).

Sapphire Beach was a nice beach to just relax and get in the water for awhile. You can rent chairs and buy lunch, snacks and drinks there. Taxis/vans come by frequently to take peole back to the ship.

excellent tour! Lots of beautiful things to see. After going on the booked tour, we took the open air taxis to other points of interest. The taxi's were $8.00 p.p. a well worth it.
Got off the taxi at the end at Paradise Point Skyride. $21.00 p.p. It takes you to the top of Paradise Point with a beautiful view of Charlotte Amalie.
Walked back to the ship from here.
Beautiful Island and great tour guide!

Last time I was there was 5 years ago and I didn't think it was as nice or clean as it did then. We did the Sapphire Beach and Island Drive. This was not so great. Sapphire Beach is very small and looks like you are entering a run down time share. I am sure at one time it was really nice. Beach area is very small and can get very crowed. The people that work there are very friendly. I was hoping for something a little nicer.
