Ketchikan Sea Cycles Excursion Reviews
Enjoy amazing Alaskan wildlife and get great exercise at the same time on sea cycles! This is an exciting way to appreciate everything the great waters of Ketchikan have to offer.
After donning our rain pants, life jackets and rain jackets, we were instructed on how to use our sea cycles. We spent the next 90 minutes sea cycling around the cove and the estuary. We learned about the history of the area, we saw several starfish and some jellyfish. We also saw several bald eagles. Having had knee surgery 18 months ago, I was a little worried about the pedaling I would have to do. I didn't have any problems. We would cycle to a certain point to make observations and to learn about the area. We stopped frequently, so fatigue was not a problem. The scenery was beautiful. Our sea cycle was equipped with a radio which enabled us to hear everything our guide was saying. It could also be used to ask questions, if needed. After cycling, we did have a dockside picnic with interesting jellies made from spruce tips and other plants. It was delicious. We then had the opportunity to see a couple of bald eagles who feed in the area.Read lnoonan's full Celebrity Millennium cruise review

For those who want to sea kayak but can't handle sitting with your legs straight out, this tour is for you. Amber & Vicky had just started this tour this year so went out of their way to pick us up on short notice when our schedule tour canceled. There were just the four of us on two sea cycles (similar to a paddle boat/water bike). During the two hours on the water we saw eagles, seals and a brown bear. Great exercise!Read DesertGirl28's full Statendam cruise review
