Take a tour of a local factory in Cozumel and get a behind the scenes look at the manufacturing process.

We'd been to Cozumel before (SCUBA diving); so we chose a tour of the island with a taxi with whom we negotiated a price for 4 of us. The best part of the island excursion was a tour of a local tequila factory. The "taxista" also stopped to let us shop briefly before we returned to the ship.

Kaokao Chocolate factory - less of a factory than a small production kitchen with a really neat exhibit and presentation about how the chocolate is made. Lots of samples and very reasonably priced. However, I would not recommend to families with children under 10 as there is a lot of listening and very little experiential activities during the "tour."

kaokao chocolate factory tour Small factory with a great staff. The whole family enjoyed this one. After a lesson on the background of chocolate and cocoa beans we made our own chocolate and from start to finish.
After our tour we also visited Mr. Sancho's on a pay as you go type of plan. We rented a cabana and swam for hours. Lunch was tasty - great guacamole!
