We booked the "Titanic - The Halifax connection" tour, and didn't pay attention until the day before the port stop that our tour didn't begin until 3:00 p.m. We took advantage of the late start to do some shopping and walk along the waterfront, which was also interesting. Once the tour started, our first stop was at the maritime museum, and frankly it was a little disappointing, partly because it was VERY crowded, which made it hard to see everything in the time allotted. We went from there to the cemetery where many Titanic victims were buried. On the way there the tour guide also explained about the "Halifax explosion" -- a WWI freighter loaded with munitions collided with another ship, caught fire, drifted toward the shore and exploded -- blinding many in the town who had gone to their windows to see what had happened. At the cemetery the tour guide gave a very informative talk about the body identification processes that had been used, the grave markers, and other interesting facts. The late start, coupled with rush hour traffic, made us quite late back to the ship -- we were not back until after 6 p.m., so we missed our early dinner seating. Overall I'm glad we did the tour, but it can be important to pay attention to the starting time and know that you may be getting back to the ship just before it sails.

The tour takes you all around the city to the Citadel. We pass public gardens twice on way there. We spent 15 minutes at Citadel (but it should have been at least an hour and half) and moved on to the public gardens where we spent 1-1/2 hours (not necessary!!). The garden is a 15 minute walk. Nice garden. Then we were to find our lunch. Free Wifi, but could not connect, at McDonald's. Not a great selection of dining options.

Fantastic private tour. This was a combined tour of Peggy's Cove and highlights in Halifax. Price was better than cruise lines. Tour guide was a wealth of knowledge.

The tour was through the cruise line. Heart of Historic Halifax. The tour guide was superb. Weather was rainy and cool but expected.
